Crimson Booters Take On Penn in First Road Game

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

When the soccer team runs onto Penn's River Field for its first road contest this morning, it will probably be facing its toughest opposition to date. Penn looks like a spoiler, with wins over strong Haverford and Princeton squads.

Bruce Munro's team, though not at full strength because of the injury to Ben Florin in last Saturday's game, has looked very good in recent scrimmages. Benjy Goldstein will start at right wing for the Crimson and should add punch to the attack. A pre-season injury sidelined Goldstein for the opening contests.

Displaced at wing, Latsi Berger will move back to right halfback. Center half will be either Dana Getchell or Bob Harding, who was slightly injured last week.

Drehmel Starting

Vorn Drehmel will break into the starting lineup at center forward and Captain Ted Wolf will shift to left inside. Humph Doormann will fill in for Ben Florin at left fullback.

Paul Devaney, Penn's left wing who scored three goals against Princeton last week, will be a man for the Crimson defense to watch. Penn has a good defense, led by center halfback Lee Scorikian.

The Crimson goes into the game strengthened up front but weakened defensively, and a lot will depend on the insides checking back.

In freshman soccer, the Yardlings play host to Brandeis at 2 p.m. today.
