The freshman hockey team encountered little difficulty in winning its second straight game of the season when it outclassed Dartmouth, 5-1, last Friday in Hanover, New Hampshire. The second contest of the weekend, scheduled against the University of New Hampshire for Saturday, was called off because of lack of ice.
Despite extremely poor skating conditions, the Yardling six managed to display unquestionable superiority over its Hanover foes. Players and coaches felt the score would have been far more lopsided had the ice been better.
Grant Scores First
The Crimson got off to a fast lead when Norm Grant, on passes from Walt Greeley and Amory Hubbard, scored at 1:35 of the first period. The home team tied the score at 3:25 of the next stanza, but after that the game was never close.
Coach Stanton Priddy's squad out for its third straight triumps, meets Belmont Hill in the Arena this afternoon. They have beaten this opponent in an early-season scrimmage.
The summary:
Harvard goals--First period, Grant (Greeley, Hubbard), 1:35. Second period, O'Brien (Johnson), 14:55. Third period, Grant (Hubbard), 0:37; Chase (unassisted), 5:00; Hubbard (Greeley), 13:33.
Dartmouth goals--Second period, Cote (Bremner), 3:25.
