PBH Book Drive Opens Next Term

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

An extensive Phillips Brooks House campaign to collect student textbooks for Europe will begin the first week of the Spring term, PBH announced yesterday.

Brooks House this week asked students not to sell their books at the end of the term, so that texts may be shipped to the University of Munich, Salzburg Seminar, and other European institutions.

Curtiss Jones '50 has been named as chairman of the drive. Robert N. DiComes '50, will be chief of canvassing, and William L. Green '50 and George H. Williams '51 will handle publicity.

Additional European centers will be chosen on the basis of their need for student texts.

Europe is especially low on its supply of books on the social sciences, PBH says.
