New Prep's basketball team took a giant's step out of its class yesterday afternoon and absorbed an 81 to 18 drubbing from the freshman five at the Block house.

Coach Floyd Wilson of the freshmen played his reserves throughout the entire contest but couldn't keep the score from mounting. The Yardlings connected on 36 of 73 field attempts, rolling up a 19 to 0 margin before New Prep scored on a free throw in the second period.

Al Kenney and Glenn Bair led Crimson scorers with 24 and 22 points respectively Only bright spot for the visitors was the play of Ed Landau, who scored 14 of his team's 18 points.
