Samuel Eliot Morison '07, Jonathan Trumbull Professor of American History, will expound. "The History of Harvard" at 8 p.m. tonight in Emerson D as the first in a series of Student Council sponsored meetings.

Professor Morison, former official historian for the United States Navy, has been picked to write the official history of World War II. He is also considered an expert on the University, having written "Three Hundred Years of Harvard" in 1936.

Other lectures in the series, sponsored by the Council to establish closer contact between the College and students, will be on "Athletics at Harvard," "Rhodes Scholarships and Henry Fellowships," and "Harvard's Admission System."
