8 Takeaways From Harvard’s Task Force Reports
Helen Maud Cam, professor of history at Harvard and Radcliffe, is one of 12 women who will receive honorary degrees Thursday, October 20, from Smith College.
Presentation of the degrees will be made at ceremonies commemorating the seventy-fifth anniversary of the opening of Smith. In addition to Miss Cam, degrees will also go to Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt, Sarah Gibson Blanding, president of Vassar, and Margaret Clapp, newly-elected president of Wellesley.
Miss Cam, the first woman ever to join the Harvard faculty, was appointed to her full professorship in 1948.
