"The fastest team on two feet" may speed up a little more this afternoon when the once-defeated freshman lacrosse squad meets the strong Deerfield Acadmy team on the Business School field at 3:45 p.m.
Deerfield has a big, strong team, fresh from a win over the Yale freshmen last Saturday. They are the third major threat to the Crimson record in three weeks, following Exeter and Andover. If the Yard team squeezes by them today, it will have easier running for a couple of weeks until the Yale game on Saturday, May 21.
The freshmen will play today without first midfield player Rip Lynch and third midfield man Pete Fleming, both of whom are sick. The shuffied first midfield will be Al Sawyer, Pete Brooke, and George Bender.
Starting at attack will be Ned Yost and Bob Baldwin, high scorers in Saturday's game with Andover, along with Lou Schaffer. Captain Bill Sponce, Jay Byrne, and Godfrey Birckhead will take defense positions, and Dick Thomas will start as goalie.
