Golf Team Beats Terriers by 5 to 1

Bob Matson scored a 69 yesterday as the golf team beat Boston University for the second time this year, 5 to 1. Only once before in the season has a varsity player broken 70, and it was against the same opponent.

BU showed up at the Dedham Country Club one man shy, but the Crimson declined to penalize them in the scoring. Dave Gorman played the 18 holes by himself and scored an off-the-record 76.

The morning rain gave way to a sunny, calm afternoon by match-time, bringing the best weather Harvard has played in this year.

The Summary: Rickenbacker (II) defeated Flynn (BU), 2 and 1; O'Keefe (II) defeated Sullivan (BU), 1 up; Matson (H) defeated Bates (BU), 6 and 4; Olsen (BU) defeated Mee (H), 1 up, nineteenth hole; Denton (H) defeated Gorman (BU), 4 and 3; Seager (H) defeated Toner (BU), 7 and 5.
