Henry A. Wallace threw University welcome-mat-dusters into a tither early yesterday afternoon with an unannounced and unscheduled stroll through the Yard and Widener Library.

The former vice-president, is the Hub for a speech last night, came to Cambridge with Italian Senator Michele Giua.

Giua lunched at the Faculty Club with Gaetano Salvemini, Lauro de Bosis Lecturer in Italian History, emorlius. Salvemini said yesterday, "I have known the senator for many years, but I am not connected with his movement."

Wallace walked to Widener from the Faculty Club and left the Library after a few minutes. Before University officials knew he had been here, he was on his way back to Boston.
