JRC Planned Eisler Address This Week

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

If he had not fled the U. S. government bond last week, Gerhart Eisler would probably have addressed a John Reed Club audience this week, it was learned yesterday.

Shortly after Eisler's speaking appearance here February 21, officials of the John Reed Club invited the German Communist to pay a return visit to Harvard and tentatively scheduled the date for sometime this week. Such a return engagement by Eisler would probably have balanced the Club's books.

John Reed president George W. Stocking, Jr. '49 was unavailable last night for comment.
