The Lowell and Adams baseball teams perpetuated their unbeaten records yesterday as Lowell smashed Winthrop, 9 to 2, and Adams slapped Leverett, 5 to 1, while Dunster routed Dudley, 12 to 3, for for the first Funster victory of the season.
Bob Capaccio sparked a four-run first inning for the Bellboys when he slugged out a triple with two men on. Jerry Dwight's steady pitching helped to keep Lowell in the winning groove.
Hurler Herb Mercer led Adams to victory, assisted by Gold Coaster Will Brown who rapped three hits.
Paul Demmick, Dunster catcher, contributed three hits to the Funster renaissance yesterday and Jerry Ulin, Dunster pitcher, helped to win his own game with a double.
In softball, Winthrop downed Lowell, 8 to 5, and Adams edged Leverett, 3 to 2.
In tennis, Dudley forfeited to Leverett, and Lowell defeated Eliot, 4 to 1.
Although the season in these three sports ended on paper yesterday, myriad postponed duels will be fought next week.
