'52 Track Team To Meet Andover

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The freshman track team is in for another very close meet this afternoon when it travels north to take on Andover. "We'll have to clean up on the flat to beat 'em," freshman Coach Carl Olsen says, adding that the prepschoolersare strong in the weight events, the jumps and the hurdles.

Dave Cairns, top Crimson miler, was released from Stillman yesterday and will be able to run. Other trackmen are all in "the best shape they've been all year," Olsen says.

The greatest Andover strength lies in the weights. Blue shotputters and discus and javelin heavers have consistently been winning their events with throws which outdistance the Crimson's best attempts by at least several feet.

The hammer will witness a duel between Harvard's Dan Tucker and Andover's Dave Reed, both of whom can whip the ball about 165 feet.
