Two opposing political philosophies will converge on the subject "Whither Red China!" in Sever 11 at 8 p.m. tonight. The forum is sponsored by the Liberal Union.
Chu Tang, editor of the China Daily News and long time supporter of the Chinese Communists, will define the Red program in Northern China and outline Communist plans for Southern China when it falls under their control.
Edwin O. Reischauer associate professor of Far Eastern Languages, and Benjamin Schwartz, instructor in regional Studies will discuss the future of such a program within the social and political structure of China.
Yes or No?
While Tang advocates unadulterated communism for China, Reischauer has claimed in his most recent articles and books about China that it is impossible to superimpose such a system on the Chinese heritage.
Herbert Levine '50, president of the Liberal Union, calls tonight's forum "the first discussion of the Chinese situation since the reopening of the subject by Communist military advances this spring."
