Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
Dr. George P. Berry, professor of Bacteriology and Associate Dean of the School of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Rochester will be the new Dean of the Medical School, President Conant announced last night.
Dr. Berry succeeds Dr. C. Sidney Burwell who has resigned as Dean to devote his full time to teaching and research. Dr. Berry, who will also hold an appointment as professor of Bacteriology, assumes his new duties in the fall.
Rochester Faculty
A member of the University of Rochester faculty for 18 years, Berry has conducted extensive research in birds, animals, and man related to such diseases as psittacosis (parrot fever), yellow fever, and encephalitis (inflammation of the brain). He has also studied the relationships of certain viruses to cancer, and has been especially concerned with the mechanisms of virus infections.
Edits Journal
He is associate editor of the Journal of Immunology and of Bacteriological Reviews, and a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Bacteriology.
As an officer of the Naval Reserve on active duty, Berry participated in the atomic bomb tests at Bikini atoll in 1946; earlier in the war he served on a number of committees concerned with medical training for the Armed Forces, the procurement of physicians for military service, and civilian defense.
