The freshman lacrosse squad plays its first home game when it meets Andover at 3 p.m. today on the Business School field.
The team will be seeking its fourth win in five games, but since Andover is a perennial dark horse in the lacrosse field, a Crimson victory will be no rout like many of their wins have been.
Coach Dick Merryman will possibly shift the defensemen to tighten up the defense, which was somewhat shaky in last Wednesday's game with Governor Dummer. Captain Bill Spence is the only sure starter at defense, while the other two men will be picked from Ned Normal was has started all the games so far. Godfrey Birckhead. Jay Byrne, and Stan Brager, another regular starter.
Rest of Lineup Constant
Starters at the other positions will be mostly the regular starters of past games. The midfield will be Ripper Lynch, Pete Brooke, and Al Sawyer. At attack will be Ned Yost, Bob Baldwin, and Pete Schaffer. The starting goalie spot will be a toss-up between Dune McCallum and Dick Thomas. McCallum has been the usual starter, but Thomas was slightly sharper in Wednesday's contest.
Other possible substitutes are: at attack, George Bender and Fritz Delafield at midfield. George Osborne Dick Edelman, Mike Park, and George Otis; and at defense, Willie Byrne.
Previous games this year have been with Mount Herman, Lawrence Academy. Governor Dummer, and Exeter, which initiated the Crimson team with its first defeat.
