Amherst's golf team, the only squad that beat Harvard in regular competition last year, meets the varsity at 2 p.m. today at the Orchard Country Club in South Hadley.
Last year the Lord Jeffs had a slightly superior team and a good afternoon; they won by 5 to 4. Amherst will field almost exactly the same men today.
The varsity will use six of its regular players for the match, with the addition of Scott Lukins for the first time this year. Lukins played on last year's freshman team and has broken 80 on the Dedham home course. The other Crimson players will be Bill Rickenbacker, Bob Matson, Jack Denton, Dick O'Keefe, Herb Mee, and Sam Seager.
The match with Boston College, called off last Thursday because of expected rain, will not be played until May.
