Radcliffe girls are wondering whether or not they are "allowed" to donate their blood to Phillips Brooks Houses current spring drive.
Betty K. Heaton '51, Annex Community Service Committee chairman, last week told PBH that the Radcliffe Health Center officials said last night that they students to give their blood. But Health Center officials said last night that they had never issued any such ruling.
The Radcliffe Health Department indicated before spring vacation that it "wouldn't be good" for Annex students to donate their blood, Miss Heaton said yesterday. As a result, Frederick M. Fialkow '51, PBH drive chairman made plans to conduct the campaign without Radcliffe's help.
Dr. Veronica Tisza, head of the Health Center, explained last night that although the Center has in the past imposed occasional restrictions on would-be annex donors. It has "no objection whatever" to the general participation of Radcliffe girls in the PBH campaign. Dr. Tisza's statement was echoed by Dr. Dorothy McLead, another member of the Health Center.
Miss Heaton will meet with the Health Center officials immediately to discover it, after all, Annex students will be able to help swell the May 2 and 3 donations.
