The picture with Bert Haines' freshman 150's is not so rosy as with the heavies. Of the 16 men who will man two boats, only three have rowed before "Spirit is wonderful though," Haines says, and he finds his material "promising' considering where it had to start.
Time trials next week will tell how far Haines has come to conjuring his men into preparedness for the MIT race a week from tomorrow. Its doubtful whether their showing will be up to that of last year's freshman 150 crew which was so extraordinarily good that six members of it now sit in the varsity 150 shell.
