Tom Guthrie, third string lineman for one month last fall, has been signed by the Chicago Bears of the National Football league, it was announced Friday.
A six-foot, four-inch, 230 pound transfer student from Notre Dame, where he was first string end, Guthrie started out playing end here. Art Valpey shifted him to tackle when he reported for practice in September and after the Army game, tried Guthrie out at defensive end.
