Gannon, Rodis Get Coaching Posts

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Thomas "Chip" Gannon, brightest star of the postwar Crimson elevens, was last night named head coach of football at American International College in Springfield. His friend and teammate Nick Rodis was named line coach and varsity basketball mentor. Both men will graduate in June.

Gannon and Rodis will install the Michigan single wing at American. They intend to hold a short spring practice there to case its adoption.

Valpey Predicts Success

Crimson head coach Arthur Valpey had high hopes of success for his two former football players. "They're both good fundamentalists and they have a fine basic knowledge of the system."

The announcement by American college's athletic director Henry A. Butova did not come as a complete surprise, inasmuch as the two were tentatively hired weeks ago but the final announcement did not arrive until yesterday.
