The Frederic Greeley Crocker Memorial Trophy, to be awarded each year to Harvard's most valuable football player, was given to the University yesterday at a ceremony in the office of William J. Bingham '16, Director of Athletics.
Football coach Arthur L. Valpey said last night that "A most valuable player award is a good idea, and I believe this one will be a fine help to team spirit, particularly if the boys have a say in the awarding of it."
The HAA has not yet decided who will choose the recipient of the award, which is to be given to one player each year whose "perseverance, initiative, courage, and selflessness best exemplify those qualities possessed by Frederic Crocker, right end on the 1933 Crimson squad.
