Radcliffe cannot afford to waive tuition for a student DP whom the Annex freshmen voted to adopt for a year's schooling, Dean Mildred P. Sherman informed class president Cherry Morrit '52 yesterday.
The freshmen will go ahead with plans to raise the necessary funds by themselves, Miss Merrit said last night. Profits from their St. Patrick's Day weekend and reserves in the class treasury are earmarked for the under-taking.
An appeal will be made to the entire student body for contributions, should the class fall short of its goal.
