Students Skip Registration At Radcliffe

20 New Grad Students and 12 Undergraduates Raise Total Enrollment to 1290 Figure

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Radcliffe will not register approximately 1290 students today.

Unlike Harvard, which sets up full registration machinery twice a year, Radcliffe omits any formality at the beginning of spring term except one demand--that students turn in spring term study cards by February 15.

Girls Return for Classes

Up to today, many Annex students had not returned from their long between term weekend. First class meeting lists posted on official bulletin boards in Fay House, home of administrative offices in Radcliffe Yard, were the only signs of the new term at the Annex.

One small group checked in at the Registrar's Office this week, Miss Ruth Davenport, Annex Registrar announced. Twelve new undergraduates and 20 new graduate students filled out registration material and will attend their first classes in Cambridge today. They will have no Orientation program, such as freshmen encounter every fall.

Enrollment Holds Level

While Harvard enrollment slumped in comparison with last year's, Radcliffe's spring term statistics remain on a level with last year's registration at the Annex, Miss Davenport said. This term, 32 new students will enter the college; in February, 1948, 34 signed in.
