Harvard Still On Track To Reach Fossil Fuel-Neutral Status by 2026, Sustainability Report Finds
Harvard's hockey team trimmed Williams, 5 to 3 Saturday, but for the second game in a row the Crimson had to come from behind a first period deficit to beat a weaker rival.
In gaining its seventh win in its last eight games, the Crimson probably could have compiled a much higher score against the mediocre Williams sextet had it played a little harder. But its passing and defense were unsteady all right and Williams could easily have come out the winner. The Elphmen led. 2 to 0, at the end of the first period. Because the weather was too warm for Williams' outdoor rink the game was played at the small Springfield Arena.
Mosciey Nets Two
Second-line wing Tom Moseley stood out in the Crimson win, leading the scoring with two goals. Early in the second period Moseley shot from behind the goal and a Williams defenseman deflected the puck into the cage. In the third period Moseley took a pass from center Myles Huntington and scored on bullet shot.
All other Crimson goals came on regular pans plays through the Williams defense. Dave Key and Lew Preston got credit for goals in the second period, while Bill Garrity scored in the third period.
All three of Harvard's goalies got into the game, each playing on period. Phil Clark, Bill Yetman, and Johnny Chase performed in that order. 1
