Carlos Alberto Arosemena '49 of Mexico City, Mexico, and Winthrop House, and Walter Robert McGurdy '49 of Brooklyn, New York, and the Varsity Club, were last night appointed to fill the two Class of '49 vacancies in the Student Council.

John K. Lally '49 and William Gold '49, also qualified for the positions by number of votes received in the last election, had earlier declined the posts. Arosemena and McCurdy replace former Council President William D. Weeks '49 and Laurence F. O'Donnell '49.
