'52 Six Defeats Belmont Hill For Ninth Straight Win, 5-2

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Belmont Hill fed the freshman hockey team its ninth straight victory, 5 to 2, in the Arena yesterday afternoon and dropped out of the ranks of undefeated high school sextets.

The game started slowly, after Yardling Bill Timpson's first minute goal, and neither team began to function with even nearly normal speed until late in the second period. The Crimson came into its own only in the final frame.

The '52 second line turned in the best performance of the day, with passing play-setting, and scoring far superior to the first frontier's efforts.

Hatch Trick

Morgan Hatch, Yardling second line left wing, pulled the first hat trick of his career, scoring once in the second period and twice in the third. Johnny Snelling, second line center, collected a single goal in the last third of the contest.

Captain Dusty Burke, back at defense, showed the effects of his two month layoff in his first appearance since he broke his collarbone in the Brown game in December. His play was noticeably beneath its early season standard and his timing was off several times during the afternoon.
