University Forms Centralized Lost And Found Depot

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The University has revamped its entire lost and found system in favor of a sole central depot at 22 Dunster st., Charles C. Pyne, assistant to Vice-President Edward Reynolds '15, announced yesterday.

Under the new plan current lost and found depositories in Widener, the Union, Lehman Hall and at Houses will all be abandoned. Building janitors will turn in all articles to the new collection office, located in the University Police Force's headquarters. The move was first suggested by a CRIMSON editorial last month.

Catching Up

At present University workers are cataloguing the accumulation of uncalled-for articles and are returning identified property to owners. All losses should now be reported to this office, Pyne explained, and claimants can sign with University Chief of Police Alvin R. Randall.

Under the old system so many students failed to claim articles that yearly harvests of unclaimed property had to be turned over to charity.
