While the man in the street curses and stumbles in the slush, the ski team is getting ready to move into its annual period of between-term activity on New England's choicest slopes.

Graham Taylor and John Hart took seventh and ninth, respectively, at Lebanon, New Hampshire, Sunday in the state cross country and jumping championships. This Sunday the team will enter the annual Gibson Trophy slalom race at North Conway, New Hampshire.

Practice at Pinkham Notch

Meanwhile, the team will continue practicing at Pinkham Notch, near North Conway, and at Dartmouth's jump in Hanover for the Dartmouth's jump in Hanover for the Dartmouth Winter Carnival on February 11 and 12.

For the ski enthusiast, the Associated Press reports "excellent" conditions at Camden and Rangoloy, Maine, and good skiing all around New Hampshire and the Berkshires.

Stowe and Woodstock, Vermont, report two to three inches of powder and fair to good conditions.
