Harvard's Student Employment Office pays student typists almost twice as much as the Radcliffe Office does and Annex girls don't like it.
"We do the same work and are just as dependent on the extra money as are Harvard men," several of them complained to the 'Cliffe office this week.
For a single-spaced type-written page the Harvard office pays 40 cents, the girls said; the Radcliffe office pays 20 cents.
A double-spaced page typed by a male student pays 20 cents; typed by a female student, 15 cents. If a Harvard man types a carbon copy, he gets 5 cents per page; the Radcliffe girls get 2 cents per page.
The Annex office is now considering a re-adjustment of its rate system to meet the complaints. No immediate change in rates is foreseen.
