During Christmas vacation the Harvard Union and the dining halls of all Houses except Kirkland will be closed, it was learned yesterday. The Kirkland Houses dining room will remain open to all students over the holidays.

Serving their last meal at dinner next Wednesday, the other Houses will remain closed until breakfast on Thursday, January 5. Eliot's dining hall opens one day earlier, serving breakfast Wednesday, January 4.

Board costs will end next Thursday. Students who want to eat at Kirkland House may pay for their meals by coupon books or they may have their board costs continued.

Library Rules

The University's libraries will remain open during vacation but their hours change for the period. Widener Library will close at 5:30 p.m. from December 22 to January 3. It will be closed all day the two Saturdays before Christmas and New Year's Day. Lament stays open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. throughout the vacation. Houghton Library will close Friday at noon before both Christmas and New Year's and not reopen until the following Tuesday.

Students, as usual, will not have to pay to remain in their rooms during vacation.
