Squash Team Tops Indians, 6-3, Despite Five Out Injured

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Dartmouth displayed its tradition hospitality to the squash team yesterday afternoon and enabled Coach Jack Barnaby's injury-riddled squad to come up with its first victory of the season by a 6 to 3 score.

No Crimson squash team has ever been defeated by the Indians and although five potential starters were left behind when the squad left for Hanover Thursday the match was never close.

Canada will be the scene of other matches this weekend. Today the Crimson will meet McGill and possibly Toronto; they are scheduled to play a Montreal club team Sunday morning.

Ufford '53 Captain

Cory Winn's freshman team, which gained a 5-0 victory over MIT in its only start this season, will play St. Paul's here today. At a squad meeting yesterday, Charles W. Ufford, of Haverford, Pennsylvania and Weld Hall was elected captain of the 1953 team. Ufford, a former captain and number one man at Deerfield, won the New England scholastic championship last year.

The Dartmouth summary: Foster (H) defeated Rindge, 3-2; Nawn (H) defeated Stahi, 3-2; Bacon (H) defeated Hulbert, 3-0; Simel defeated Flagg (H), 3-2; Plimpton (H) defeated Keese, 3-0; Hoar (H) defeated Fisher, 3-1; Harding (H) defeated Flannagan, 3-1; Austin defeated Richardson (H), 3-2; Mauk defeated Hunt (H), 3-1.
