Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
Lowell and Winthrop staged a football game between the 20 yard line stripes yesterday afternoon on Soldiers Field and registered the season's first scoreless tie. On the adjoining gridiron, Kirkland scored in every period to swamp Dunster, 25 to 0.
The Bellboy line opened up holes for the hard driving halfback Brooks Wilder at midfield, but the T attack always stalled near the goalline. Lowell nearly broke the deadlock in the last minute of play when a run by Bill Graves and a pair of passes from Bob Woodruff to flanker John Goldsmith moved the ball from the Bellboy 20 to the Winthrop 30 before the final whistle blew.
Winthrop was playing without the services of first string halfbacks Frank Hernberg and Pete Brook.
No Eleventh Man
The Dunster-Kirkland game was cut to six minute periods because the Funsters didn't have their eleventh man until 15 minutes after game time. Kirkland used up most of these short quarters by grinding out its four touchdowns with straight power plays.
Deacon scoring honors went to sophomore John Tangen who went over twice in the fourth period on end sweeps. Frank Nolan scored from the one-inch line, and fullback Tom Lamb went across from the ten after a deceptive fake to the wingback. Fullback Jim Dumas, who previously has been billed in the CRIMSON as Murray Pearlstein, did most of the ball carrying for the Funsters.
Touch Football
In touch football yesterday, Leverett came from far behind to down Adams, 36 to 30. In a wild fourth period, the Bunnies scored there times to take the victory.
