Fair-Haired Boy Lures Nine

Bert Dreyfus '51 wasn't expecting guests last night.

Bert, in fact, was "calmly studying Hegel" in his Lowell House room when the nine women walked in. It was 6:55 p.m.

The girls, who are student nurses at a local hospital, said they had "an impulse" to see Bert, who has bright red hair. One of them know Bert and suggested "it would be tremendous" if nine boys walked in on her. Bert, she reasoned would surely appreciate nine girls walking in on him.

So they left Howard Johnson's where they were dining, and marched to the Lowell House. They consulted the janitor, who said. "Wait here." He telephoned Bert.

The nurses, however, decided it would be better to surprise their friend. They barged across the courtyard, leaving a line of stiff necks behind them. They knocked at Bert's door.

"I thought it was a mirage," said Anthony Oettinger '51, Bert's roommate. who opened the door. Immediately he closed it again. The girls walked in. So did a dozen Lowell House spectators. No drinks were served.
