Bradford H. Quackenbush will captain the Yale varsity football team next year. Blue lettermen elected his successor to Levi Jackson at a 15-minute meeting yesterday afternoon.
Quackenbush has played end for two years for Coach Herman Hickman. Wearing number 87, the 19-year-old, six foot, one inch junior was used one both offense and defense this year, mostly on defense. At West Aurora (Illinois) High School he was named All-State halfback in 1946.
The only other Eli regulars in the Class of 1951 are quarterback Stu Tisdale, end Warren Gant, and tackles Walt Clemens, Rufus Phillips, and Joe Finnegan.
