Horwood Is Selected '50 Football Manager

Sargent P. Horwood '52 of Winthrop House and Cambridge has been elected assistant manager of the varsity football squad, Frank S. Jones '50, retiring manager of the team, announced last night.

Horwood, who finished first among five competitors, will serve one year in that position and in 1951 he will succeed Charles J. Keaver '51 as varsity manager. Keaver won last year's competition.

Mallory Smith '52 of Winchester won second place and will be manager of the freshman team for the coming season. Samuel H. Ordway '52, of Winthrop House and New York City, finished third in the elections and will manage the Jayvee squad.

Managers are elected after a competition which lasts through the season.
