Lionel Six Downs Straus, 19-0, for Freshman Crown

Undefeated Lionel Hall of the National League won the Yardling touch football championship by beating the American League champion, Straus North, 19 to 0, yesterday afternoon on Soldiers Field. Lionel took the National League title on Tuesday by defeating Mathew North, 13 to 0.

The Lionel team, which has had only one touchdown scored against them in nine games, stiffed the Straus pass attack with frequent interceptions. Bob Campbell ran back one of these to a touchdown, after a quick kick by Ted Berkeley had driven Straus to its own goalline. Steve Kurzman, whose passing has highlighted the Lionel offense all season, tossed scoring passes to Hank Green-burg and Dick Chamberlain.

Gordon Brumm, Lionel player-coach, said that the Yardling champions will play a touch football team from Yale in New Haven on Saturday morning, though the Eli freshmen do not have an organized league.
