Rugby Team Ties McGill at Montreal 3-3

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Crimson rugby squad held a fast and powerful McGill squad to a 3 to 3 tie yesterday afternoon in Montreal's Molson Stadium.

This game is the only one scheduled this fall for the team.

Harvard scored first on a long run by Captain Joe Eaton who passed to Hollis French ten yards from the goal. French pushed his way past two McGill backs and touched down between the uprights, John Densmore's attempt to convert failed, and the Crimson led 3 to 0.

McGill's Tally

McGill's score came late in the first half, as the team combined a three quarter rush and dribble to tie the score. McGill was also unable to convert.

Hampered by a muddy field and cold weather, neither squad was able to score thereafter although they both threatened.

End John Cotter and the two wing forwards, Len Wheeler and Colin McIntyre, led the team with their play. Fullback Densmore made two outstanding saves, stopping determined drives by the Canadians.

A majority of last year's team has returned to help Coach Ed Callanan's 1949-50 squad.
