Trimble, Houston Elected as Officers of Athletic Council

Donald E. Trimble '50 and Howard E. Houston '50 were elected president and vice-president of the Undergraduate Council on Athletics yesterday.

Trimble, who is a member of the track team and holds Harvard's record for the javelin, heads the new undergraduate slate which is composed of representatives of all major and minor sports as well as House representatives. Houston is football captain.

Purpose of the council is to act as a liaison between undergraduates and the Graduate Committee on Regulation of Athletic Sport. The council considers any undergraduate complaints that may arise. If they are considered justifiable, they are passed on the graduate committee.

Representatives elected for one term are:

Major sports--basketball, Clifton D. Crosby '50; baseball, Miles D. Huntington '50; crew, Michael J. Scully '48; football Houston; hockey, William L. Garrity, Jr. '50; swimming, Robert N. Berke '51; Track, Trimble;

Minor sports--William A. Allen H '50, Loring E. Batchelder '50 and Robert Claflin '50;

House sports--David J. Belcher '50, William L. Henry '47, and Carl R. Marshall '50.
