The Crimson yachtsmen, paced by Skipper George Whitney, who won two races, sailed to a disputed victory over the Coast Guard Academy yesterday afternoon on the Thames River in New London. Coast Guard claims that Harvard can be not be credited with an official win because light rains and claims forced cancellation of two of the four scheduled races.

Commodore Pete Putnam, of the Crimson, insists that unless the two cancelled races are sailed next week, Harvard will consider its victory official. The Intercollegiate Yachting Association may have to step in to settle the dispute.

Harvard skippers were Whitney, Putnam, Dick Braisted, Eric Wolson, Jim Roosevelt, and Frank Scully.
