"The John L. Lewis Case--Lack of Power and a Mistake in the Use of Power" was the subject of a talk given by Zechariah Chafee, Jr., Langdell Professor of Law, in Langdell Court Room last night. The lecture was given as the first of two Chafee lectures sponsored by the Harvard Law School Forum.

Chafee, speaking before a small audience, gave a technical lecture on the theoretical aspects of the decision of the Supreme Court in the case of the U. S. vs. the United Mino Workers (330 U.S. 238).

Chafee termed this case a "masterpiece of judicial log-rolling in which a bave majority of the court affirmed Judge Goldsborough's decision." He went on to affirm his support of equity jurisdiction.
