"Dear Harvard University,
Ever since I was three I have wanted to play on the Harvard football team some day. Please send me a red Harvard pennant to put in my room. Before I was three I wanted to play on the Yale football team like my sister wants to."
And so the University, which has been getting letters like this longer than officialdom can remember, sends out gluebaked paper pennants gratis to Harvard-loving gamins throughout the land.
Philly Takes the Lead
This forward-looking publicity program is carried out under the auspices of the University News Office, which buys the crimson stickers by the hundreds. The University Information Office handles the distribution.
More pennants have gone to Philadelphia than to any other city. But the number of pennants sent out has risen steadily through the years as news of the service has spread to youths all over.
