Daniel Boone Schirmer '37, secretary of the Boston Communist Party, will speak tonight under the auspices of the John Reed Club at 7;30 p.m. in Harvard 1. He will discuss "How the Conviction of the Communists Affects You."

Schirmer, who joined the Communist Party while an undergraduate, appeared as a defense witness before Judgo Harold R. Modina in July at the Communist trial in New York. He testified there that the Party was not a subversive organization "teaching violent overthrow."
