The Owl prospered during its vacation vigil on its pine tree behind University Hall, with holiday banquest adding over a pound to its already well-filled frame, a check-up revealed yesterday.
Ludlow Griscom, research curator of zoology, shrugged off a current Yard rumor that the Owl had slaughtered himself an extra large Christmas dinner. "One day is just like another to an owl," Griscom said.
Griscom also blasted hopes that the Owl would find the Cambridge climate a little too rugged in the winter months. "Owls display typical Harvard indifference when it comes to cold weather," Griscom said, "They are very well insulated, and 20 degrees below zero won't drive them away when there's plenty to eat."
