The Student Council yesterday voted to publicize charges made against Robert C. Fisher '51 which caused his removal as an NSA delegate and an ex-officio member of the Council. The new action was instigated by Council delegate James H. Holler '49.
Heller, who introduced the original motion making the "Impeachment" proceedings secret, admitted yesterday that he had made a "drastic mistake." An organization like the Student Council has a right to make a statement in its own way, he said, but that statement must include the facts. The official Council explanation of Fisher's removal did not go far enough, Heller concluded.
A committee consisting of Charles R. Brynteson '50, Alfred M. Goodloe '50, George I. Harris '49, Frederic D. Houghteling '50, and Herbert J. Spiro '50 was appointed by the Council to compile a list of accusations, the replies made by Fisher, and a general statement of why and how he was impeached.
At Houghteling's suggestion it was decided to include Fisher's answers because "he (Fisher) was impeached by what he said, not on the specific charges."
Heller's motion also calls for a full statement of the minority opinion against Fisher's ousting, and permits Council members, who were pledged to secrecy at the meeting, to discuss the affair as soon as the Committee report is publicized.
