The Debate Council elected a new slate of officers for 1949 at a meeting in the Adams House Upper Common Room yesterday afternoon.
The new officers are: Melvin L. Zurier '50, president; Arthur W. Purcelle '50, vice president; K. Bruce Friedman '50, home secretary; Charles B. Flood '51, treasurer; and A. Werner Pleus, '51, publicity chairman. Jerome B. Spunt '50 was reelected corresponding secretary.
Outgoing officers are: J. Phillip Bann '49, president; Lucian C. E. Parlato '50, vice president; Edward P. Burke '50, treasurer; and Everett B. Mattlin '49.
Zurier, the new president is the former home secretary.
