Liberals to Boost Voting List

Plans for an eleventh-hour campaign to enroll unregistered voters will form the main item on the Liberal Union agenda when the club holds its first meeting of the term at 3 p.m. in Little Hall 32.

Roy F. Gootenberg '49, president of the HLU, last night emphasized the necessity of a large vote in order to defeat three election-day referenda that he considers anti-labor. The first of the measures would outlaw such "union security" as closed shops, union shops, and maintenance of membership, Gootenberg said.

The others would rule that a majority of the plant approve any strike vote and force unions to elect officers annually.

The HLU executive boards has turned thumbs down on these proposals, Goodtenberg said, claiming that no industrials state has yet passed such measures.
