In the traditional mass meeting in Sanders Theater yesterday morning, Dean Leighton officially welcomed the Class of 1952 to the University community. He emphasized that freshmen will have to compromise in choosing courses to arrive at a well-balanced program, and reminded them of important first meetings of course today.
Richard M. Gummere, Chairman of the Committee on Admissions, and Dean of the College Wilbur J. Bender also briefly welcomed the 312th Freshman class.
