Health education for secondary school teachers will come in for a four-week graduate seminar sponsored jointly by the Summer School and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, George W. Adams, Director of the Summer School, reported last night.
Opening on June 28, the seminar will offer specialized training in Health Education for school administrators, teachers of Nutrition,--Social Studies, Health and Physical Education, and members of agencies in the school health field.
Application Due Tuesday
Applications for the course, which will be conducted as a workshop, will be received by the Summer School and the state department through Tuesday. Mary E. Spencer, Chief Coordinator of Public Health Education for the Department of Public Health, will join the Summer School Faculty to take charge of the course.
In addition to members of the Department and the School of Public Health, visiting consultants include physicians from the U.S. Public Health Service, the Yale Department of Public Health and the American Medical Association.
