Eliot Softball Squad Shuts Out Dudley, 5-0

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Despite roaster-hot weather, occasional showers, and a Dudley team which not only showed up but played good ball, Eliot's softball Mastodons lumbered to their fifth consecutive win, a 5 to 0 decision over the Commuters yesterday.

Bill Johnson pitched his third shutout in five games, and Don Carswell doubled with the bases leaded in the first inning to provide three quick runs.

Dunster and Leverett called it a day after five stanzas of goose-egg ball. Their game will be re-played Friday.

A homer with two on base by Puritan Dann Stevens gave Winthrop a 9 to 4 triumph over Kirkland.
