The lanes and times of this afternoon's regatta are as follows:

Freshman 150's (4 o'clock) M.I.T. lane 1, Harvard lane 2.

Varsity 150's (4:30 o'clock) M.I.T. lane 1, Harvard lane 2, Harvard Jayvees lane 3.

Freshmen (5 o'clock) Cornell lane 1, Harvard lane 2, M.I.T. lane 3.

Jayvees (5:30 o'clock) Harvard lane 1, Cornell lane 2.

Varsity (6 o'clock) Cornell lane 1, Harvard lane 2.

Lane 1 is nearest the Cambridge bank of the river. The race starts just above the West End bridge and finishes opposite the M.I.T. boat house.

Tom Holles almost accepted a coaching bid from Cornell in 1937, but when he finally fell prey to the lure of Bill Bingham's offerings he recommended the name of Stork Sanford to the powers that be at Ithaca. He has had plenty of days since then on which to rue that advice, for Sanford and his Cornell eights have given the Crimson more trouble than any other opponent over the last decade.

Today may well be one of those days. The Big Red rolled into town yesterday morning with three powerful boatloads ready and willing to mar Harvard's home opener. At the Varsity level, Sanford's charges pose a formidable threat to an unblemished crew season.

In Frank Collyer, the red and white cars of Cornell have a competent pacesetter, and behind him range many of the same unit that nipped the Crimson last year for its only defeat. Bolles' Varsity is in good shape for the 6 o'clock Varsity struggle, despite the absence of Jud Gale from the number 5 slide.
